-The work of American architect Frank Lloyd Wright was becoming known to European artists and designers and in 1893 wright started his independent practice
-The studio had a strong influence on a group of Scottish artists Charles Rennie Mackintosh, J. Herbert Mcnair, Margret and Frances Macdonald. They were called the four.
